If you are continually struggling with things like lupus, RA, PFS, PFAPA, Hashimoto’s, or even things that involve your gut like Crohn’s, IBS, and more you have a ton of inflammation. This comes from many things. It can come from food, microbe imbalance in your gut and even your physical environment.
Many people do not realize that when it comes to controlling inflammation (and chronic diseases with inflammation – which is all of them) that it’s a multi-tier approach. I work with people to help them identify their PERSONAL inflammatory triggers and eliminate those so they can live healthier lives without all the inflammation and chronic disease.
Your Food
This is the first place that we start. MANY MANY foods, even those that people think are healthy are HIGHLY inflammatory. Our government and society have deemed certain oils healthy and they are HIGHLY inflammatory, they have deemed fat a DEMON but our bodies need certain types of fat to function and will be dysfunctional with it.
Processed food is the number one inflammatory type of food that is out there today. This is the MAIN CAUSE of where dysfunction STARTED in the body. These foods trigger the response, our guts then react and/or become damaged, and the body then needs to put up a fight (immune system) to handle what happened. Over time it gets worse and worse. Eventually we also then lose nutrient density because these foods have little to absolutely NO nutritional value to our body so our systems are looking for nutrients that don’t exist.
Fix: Focus on eliminating processed foods, and eating real and whole foods for all meals and snacks daily. This is the starting point. Do we need more than this to fix problems? Often times yes, and the balance is hard to get without knowing how to do this because diet culture has taught us to restrict. But when eating nutrient-dense foods we need more.
Your Gut
Because many of us have eaten so many packaged and processed foods for many years, our guts have suffered. They have become microbe unbalanced, and have become damaged in addition to this imbalance by the constant lack of nutrients.
Once we have an overgrowth of certain types of inflammatory bacteria, it takes eradication to get rid of them. We also need positive microbes to grow well in the gut to help control those that are more negative and inflammatory in nature. We cannot get those positive microbes to grow without proper vegetables and fruits daily. These are the FIBERS that they need to feed and flourish. So if we lack that daily they die and become nonexistent, thus leaving the negative microbes to feed and flourish off the poor inflammatory foods entering the body.
In addition, certain foods cause rises in proteins in our body to gap our guts – meaning open it up to our bloodstream. This is when we start getting more inflammation and food reactions oftentimes.
Fix: Eating more nutrient-dense foods is the start at home. Working with a practitioner (like myself) can help you find the microbes out of balance and return them to a flourishing balanced state.
The Environment
Many things like metals and molds can greatly influence our body’s response. Not only just these but using things that change these levels on our bodies or putting our food on them can alter this.
Coated cooking materials, aluminum pans, and more can contribute to toxicity in our bodies. These things come from the environment but enter our bodies.
Our homes can have mold as well that is unseen or you are unaware of it and mold can replace and take charge of immune response and certain cell functions in our body.
These things greatly impact our ability to fight off disease, have normal gut and other bodily functions like breathing and brain activity.
Fix: Change your cookware. Stainless steel is best, with stoneware cookware following. Coatings are always bad and ditch all aluminum. If you suspect that there is mold in your home, get a free inspection and run a low-cost test with a mold company and get the information you need to determine if it’s making you sick. Mold sickness is severe and real in my practice. It causes many gut and immune problems for many of my clients.
